November 2006
As REO Speedwagon once sang, it's now time for the 'Snogger to throw
away the oars, forever.
We've decided to call it a day after almost 5 years of service. We
haven't really fallen out or anything, there are no musical
differences, and it's not a hiatus.
It's been a lot of fun, but we just haven't got the time/money/energy
to carry it on anymore, because grown-up things like
wives/kids/careers/mortgages/logistics have taken over. How fucking
rock and roll is that, eh?
It all started as a joke, but looking back to see that we've gigged
all over the country, met loads of cool people, released a debut EP
which got stonking reviews, a split 7" with Among The Missing, done 2
awesome tours (with the fantastic Red Stars Parade & Among The
Missing), had a full page feature in Bizzare magazine, played at
Bloodstock, and supported bands like Cathedral, Orange Goblin,
Electric Wizard, High On Fire and 3 Inches Of Blood is one hell of an
achievement.
We hope we've left a suitable legacy behind in our new EP, "Alcohol &
Swine". It's out now on Calculon Records, which is Podge's super
label. We're glad that we finally got all those new songs recorded,
cus there's nowt left in the tanks, so go and buy it, and enjoy it.
So, we have 2 gigs left in the tank, both in Nottingham, one at The
Old Angel on November 25 with Mistress, Narcosis and Ape Of Death. The
last ever gig will be at Rock City on December 23, at the Distortion
Xmas party, and Mel Gimpsuit will also be playing. It would be nice to
see some familiar faces joining us one last time to get horriby
pissed, sing along to the classics, and heckle us.
A goodbye would not be complete without saying thank you to a few
people, so here goes:
CJ, Darren Sadler, Paul Yeadon, Johnny Carter, Dan Pike, Al & George @
Rock City, Andy West, Shirty Something, Chris Neary, everybody at The
Old Angel (past and present), Eggy, Pitfiend, Phil, Boulty, Eliza, G,
Chris Leighton, Neil Young, The Boston Massive, The Sheffield Massive
& 9HZ, Nick Ruskell, Caren Gibson, Dom Lawson, RockSound, Phil, the
Kerrang S/D crue, our old drummer Martin, and those blokes from
Manchester who always made the effort to come see us.
And to a few bands:
Among The Missing, Beecher, Black Eye Riot, Cape Canaveral, Charger,
Cruel Humanity, Dead On A Rival, Excelsum Superbum, Flatlands,
Godsize, Helvis, John Holmes, Mel Gimpsuit, Mfkzt, Mistress, My War,
Palehorse, Red Stars Parade, Sanzen, Send More Paramedics, S.M.I.L.E,
Steel Rules Die, Taint, The Legion Of Doom The Osterman Weekend and 3
Stages Of Pain
Last, but not least, thank you to Tim Machin, for naming the band.
There is always more to a band than it's name.
That's your lot

It's off to the printers as soon as the artwork is finished by Andy, so we're looking at an October release. All ordering details will be at www.calculon.co.uk in due course, and I know Podge is looking at keeping the cost of it below a fiver. Winner!
"Cockfight" has been uploaded to our myspace page at www.myspace.com/bumsnogger so have a listen, and let us know what you think.
The track is also going to be featured on a compilation cd of underground UK labels that will be given away free, with copies of RockSound magazine sold in Tescos, out October 11th. Full tracklisting and details to follow in the next day or 2.
We're gonna be hitting the road for a few days at the end of October with those well-behaved gentlemen, Black Eye Riot. Check the website for full details of dates. It will include a date at the last ever Everything Went Heavier, at The Old Angel in Nottingham, which also features Charger, Lazarus Blackstar, Threads and many more.
Carry on.

May 2006
Ok, we're not dead, we haven't split up,
we've been busy writing and rehearsing in our new bunker, and are
now ready to take on the world ........ soon....
8 new songs in the furnace,
recording late summer, out in October/November. It will
clock in around the 30 minute mark, which is short for an album,
but if it's good enough for Slayer, it's good enough for us.
Songs lined up are:
Alabama Snakebite, Big In Germany (Still Shit), Cock Fight,
Covered In Piss, Dark Lord (The Return Of), How I Became The Town
Slut, Ted -- Last Name Dykes & Whitney's Crack Den.
Touring plans are
afoot to coincide with the release, if you want us to play your
city / town / bedroom / shed then get in touch. In the meantime,
we just have a couple of gigs lined up for the summer, as Andy is
getting married in August, so he's busy doing table plans and
looking at flowers.
Saturday, June 3rd --
Nottingham Old Angel w/ Sack Sabbath, The Smears and loads
more. (See http://www.carryonbowling.com/
for full details)
Friday, August 11th --
Nottingham Old Angel w/ Cursed, Red Stars Parade,
Palehorse & Among The Missing
Split 7" with Among
The Missing, and our EP are still available. While
you're shopping, check out Podge's ace label
http:www.calculon.co.uk/
as we now share a stable with such fine steeds as Among The
Missing, BlackEyeRiot, Charger, Church Of Misery, Legion Of Doom,
Mothertrucker, Ramesses and Sourvein. How fucking ace is that?
New t-shirts coming
very soon, as we've sold out of all the others.
Also, we keep noticing
we're being listed for gigs that we have no record of agreeing to
play. So, unless there's another band with an awful name doing
the rounds, it aint us!
Check the Dates
page on our website for all details.
